Tasting delicious fruit at the market! A sky-high gondola ride to the tea mountains in Maokong! A dinner of soup dumplings and hotpot! These are just some of the classic Taipei scenes captured in this vibrant book about Taiwan’s capital city.
Hey Taipei was written by Kathy Cheng, a Taipei-based writer also known as Tricky Taipei. She developed the story after she couldn’t find a cute picture book about Taipei in English to give to friends overseas. Then after having her baby daughter in October 2017, Kathy found a second reason to finish the project. She wanted her daughter Claudia to see herself in the book, having the same adventures and feeling proud of where she’s from.
Hey Taipei entered the world as a crowdfunding campaign in December 2018 and received hundreds of orders from all around the globe. Whether you have a personal connection to Taiwan or not, the book is an engaging way to learn about Taiwanese culture. Come take a trip to Taipei with us!
